We start with a comprehensive examination to diagnose your dental condition. A diagnosis and treatment options will be explained to you. The next step is usually endodontic treatment, where the injured pulp is removed and the root canal system is thoroughly cleansed and sealed. This root canal therapy involves local anesthesia and may be completed in one or more visits depending on the treatment required.
If the need for root canal therapy is uncertain, your tooth has previous root canal treatment, or under certain circumstances, microsurgery is indicated, you will be initially scheduled for a consultation only.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:

- Your referral slip and any x-rays if applicable.
- A list of medications you are presently taking.
- The name of your family physician(s) and telephone numbers.
- If you have dental insurance, bring your insurance card and all necessary forms (i.e. employer, insurance carrier, group number, etc.) This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.
Important : All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.
Please alert the office if you require premedication prior to dental treatment. (i.e. artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, mitralvalve prolapse, etc.)
X-ray
The x-rays that your dentist provide adds helpful information to your initial consultation, but it’s not required. Since you are 3-dimensional and x-rays are 2-dimensional, we will take our own x-ray(s) from different angles during your exam for diagnostic purposes. At times, a more detailed 3-dimensional cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) x-ray may be needed for more complex or unusual cases.
Our office is equipped with the most advanced digital radiography system, which reduces the radiation exposure by 90% compared to conventional x-rays. Our 3-D focal view limited tomography CBCT is the lowest radiation dosage possible for a CBCT.
